The glide

This week hs seen some pretty small swell, although reports of shoulder to head high have been enjoyed, for those with the knowledge of where to go. However with a week full of commitments, it was a pleasure to dust down the 9'2 on Friday and score an hour or so in the clean waist high swell. It always surprises me just how much fun you can have in the small stuff, sharing waves and catching up with old friends.

  1. You got some balls posting a shot of this spot Brah. Rather you than me.

  2. Thanks for your concern. I guess you must have surfed here or maybe live here, and if so, I will be happy to take it down. But pretty much all of this readership either lives here, or knows me. In that respect, it remains our secret, and its certainly not my position to declare ownership. Hence I always carefully crop images to ensure the integrity of somewhere is not breached.

  3. It's still a beautiful image though Howard! Gorgeous colours! Particularly the warm red colours on the cow in the foreground, just inspires me to get the brushes out!

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. The anonymous comment made me chuckle. I doubt the guy is local or even an Hawaiian despite his 'brah' speak. Maybe he should get some balls and step it up some time.

  6. Rob, you are most astute. I am not Hawaiian and I certainly wouldn't consider myself a local at this spot (only the farmer is). I am however, very bored of this flat spell. This in turn makes me irritable and prone to mischief. Glad you took the bait though ! On a serious note, this is a legendary ND spot (as I'm sure you know) and I was forbidden from talking about it by a 'real' local. Classic shot Howard.

  7. Thanks for the appreciation, I love this place too. However its worth noting the wave is just as harsh a guardian as some of its surfers, so enough said on that really. When were you last here, and have we met before ?
